Dr. Charlene van Donkersgoed

Dr. Charlene graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.  She was the gold medal winner of her graduating year (top of the class academically).  After graduating she worked as a mixed animal veterinarian (large and small animal) for 5 years in Stettler, Alberta.  She moved to Vancouver Island in 2008 and worked at Cobble Hill and Chemainus Animal Hospitals for about 2 years, when she went on maternity leave to care for her daughter Elyssa.  When she returned, she began working at Central Cowichan Animal Hospital, which she had been an owner since 2010. 

Dr. Charlene is married to Dr. Olson, and they live in Duncan with their daughters Miriam and Elyssa, and a large variety of pets (2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits, 2 birds, and 2 frogs).  Outside of work she enjoys many outdoor activities and spending time with family.
